In a desire to cover the French territory as widely as possible and to allow a new public to get an idea of the Sun Trip atmosphere, we have created the “Strasbourg-Lyon prologue”, based on our friends from the Vecolo association. About 600 km to be completed in just over 5 days, from July 8 to 14. In Lyon, the prologue group will reunite with that of the Sun Trip France.
Among the participants, well-known faces but especially newcomers, interested in testing the experience of roaming on a solar bike.
The start was given this Thursday, July 8 at 10 am, from the Cyclable de Strasbourg étoile, Cyclable counting among the partners 2020 and 2021, in particular through the participation of Arnaud Roulland. Arnaud will make some appearances during the Sun Trip France to prepare for the great adventure 2021.
“Cyclable’s ambition: to create and cultivate soft mobility by bicycle for the benefit of man and the planet. Listening to customer ideas and in connection with organizations committed to the development of cycling, Cyclable finds this state of mind in the Sun Trip Tour and is enthusiastic to renew the partnership for the 2020 edition.”
The first leg provided for a 100 km route, the longest legs will be 120 and 130 km. A deliberately accessible route, which should also benefit from very good weather. Overview of the route, with gatherings each evening:
And to promote accessibility of the Sun Trip adventure, the prologue is testing the concept of a giant solar trailer, the Trailer-Watt®, which serves as an additional charging point for participants on solar bikes and especially for those who travel by “simple” electric bicycle. A test resulting from a partnership with the Alsatian company ECOSUN Innovations, specialist in mobile solar solutions.
Below is the reaction of Jean-Michel Fuchs, one of the group’s managers. Thank you for the trust.
Hats off to Christophe, Silvia and the courageous Gilbert, who manage this project with passion.
