They had never had any real experience of bike travel, they had no clear strategy, but here they are… the two cousins are in the game! To their great surprise, they found themselves in 4th position on the 5th morning of the adventure. Some reactions from their first bivouac in Poland.

“We can’t believe we are almost in the wheel of Bernard Cauquil, but we are riding hard, we did 316 km today (19 June), 275 km the day before, it’s amazing how much the sun helps! At the beginning we had an objective of 200km per day, but very quickly we got into the game. From the neutralized part between Brussels and Leuven we saw that we could keep the pace. After that, it must be said that the map is very important, we like to see where we are in relation to the others, it’s a real pleasure!
So far so good, the bikes are working perfectly. We had just done a 3 day ride to test ourselves, so we’re still learning, but overall we’re fine, no extreme fatigue because with the sun we have the assistance is permanent. After that the days are long, it’s hard to ride from 6am to 9pm, the rest periods are quite limited in the end. We’ll see how the rest of the race goes, for the moment it’s great fun, and we’re still hoping to beat Bernard!”
