For the 2nd time in two years, the Sun Trip Alpes stopped off in Andermatt, in the heart of Switzerland. The only 2022 stage to be included in the 2023 edition.
To get there, after a one-day break in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the participants had to cover more than 300km over a 3-day stage in 4 countries: Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein and Switzerland. Never seen before on Sun Trip!
On Wednesday afternoon, June 28, the whole group headed for Andermatt, welcomed by our partner Andermatt Swiss Alps. It was an opportunity to see some beautiful images of the resort, spend some time with elected officials and meet some young people.
At the end of this 5th stage, the yellow jersey was still worn by Stéphane Bujadoux, and the blue by Daniele Gonano (by default), but it’s worth noting the comeback of Jean-Pierre Roche, who came within 5 points of the 2nd step. The suspense remained as all the participants climbed the Furka Pass, for the 6th stage to France:
