Arrived in Riga on June 24th, the two Belgian friends of the John Cockerill team continue their journey and are now in 6th position in the race to the east of Poland (as of June 30th).
They too have chosen to take the Scandinavian route. Here is their route (top line):
A look back at their previous adventures:
SunTrip demanding but we go up one place today after 2 days of forcing. We pass between ancient times ( bleachers) and modernity ( Gery in the middle of the highway in Lublin). Today was another 🌞🌞 day, which means a day full of energy. Not sure if it will last, so let’s enjoy it
220km. Today, unintentionally, we had to look for a hotel at the end of our strength! 28 June – So it’s short tonight.
27 June: A day rich in, let’s say enormous, emotion. First we entered Poland this evening. We had lunch with an Argentinian friend, Franco, who left Buenos Aires 4 years ago. We also stopped at the McDonald’s for a hamburger (for me) and a little nap for Gery. Then we continued for 70km before I realised I had forgotten my backpack with all my docs & wallet … crisis. 😡🌪🥊. I jumped in a taxi, back to Lithuania and a true divine miracle gave me back this precious bag. I definitely need to buy a head. 😩
We left this morning after a day of rest to collect Gery’s passport. We have just crossed the border back into Lithuania. Having said that, getting back on the horse after a day of rest… It takes some getting used to!🤪🤪🤪
Arrived today at the first gate of the Sun Trip: Riga. Beautiful city where we had the pleasure to be invited by my colleague from Riga (off course). We also met a fairy on our way. A rare thing I could photograph.🚴🏼♂️🤗
