The 4th edition of The Sun Trip, organized in Europe for this summer 2021, is an opportunity to create new variants around the main event which remains the “Sun Trip Europe Brussels-Lyon”, with its 10 000 km and 5 checkpoints. It will indeed be possible to participate in a prologue from Lyon to Brussels, but also in the “Half Sun Trips” from Brussels to Lyon or from Turin to Lyon !
The Lyon-Brussels prologue:
It will be the longest prologue ever organized on a Sun Trip, with a route more than 1000 km long, planned over 10 to 12 days. This prologue will be an event in itself; open to both Sun Trip Europe participants, but also to all those interested in discovering (or re-discovering) the pleasure of solar bike travel. It is the perfect opportunity to experience the atmosphere of a great Sun Trip departure. The route of this prologue will be unveiled shortly. It will offer stages of around 100km, with a accomodation scheduled every evening and the assitance of a small technical team. Participation in the prologue is not subject to compliance with the technical regulations of Sun Trip Europe. About thirty participants are already pre-registered.

The Half Sun Trip Brussels-Lyon:
New! Because it is not necessarily easy to be available for a 10,000 km long tour, the Half Sun Trip from Brussels to Lyon offers the opportunity in participating to one of the major highlights of the Sun Trip Europe 2021, which is the official departure in Brussels, by only shortening the route which ends in Lyon. The total distance of this Half Sun Trip is 6000km. The rules as well as the organization regarding accommodation, will be exactly the same as for the complete Sun Trip Europe. However, there will be no speed challenge for this Half Sun Trip.

The Half Sun Trip Turin-Lyon:
Another novelty, for those who would only be available during the second part of summer and who would be interested in discovering the Iberian part of the route.The start will be given from Italy, probably from Turin, around July the 20th . This departure date will be based on the passage time of the Sun Trip Europe ambassadors’ group, the group of participants who will mostly evolve together and participate in discussions at various stages of the route. The idea is for the participants of the Half Sun Trip Turin-Lyon to keep pace with the group of ambassadors, completing 150/160 km per day, and participating to the whole – or part – of the collective dynamic led by the group of ambassadors. Collective and festive times will be organized along the way, in particular in Barcelona, around Pico Veleta, in Porto and on other exceptional sites ! A collective arrival in Lyon will be organized for the group of ambassadors, an event that will put an end to the Sun Trip Europe at the very beginning of September 2021.
